web servers

I run web servers and web sites. Some people even call me a webmaster. So I suppose I should mention things like that;

I like the Apache web server, although I've been known to dabble with IIS and Netscape Enterprise Server (or Iplant or whatever its called today :)

PHP is cool, as is Perl. I use both extensively, but consider myself J.A.P.H more than anything else :)

mod_layout is also fun, and is what adds the style, menus, etc to this web page.

Anyway, I run a web server or two. One of them is quite big and has lots of virtual hosts. It does mail for most hosts too.

I write web server code too - usually dynamic web pages using PHP, MySQL, etc. I've written server-side stuff to, most notably some user authentication code that is apparently "some hairy shit". Deep voodoo magic, etc - they just don't understand it :)

Mmm, websites. Things like The Old Georgians Directory, Rhodes University Computer Users Society, ZAnet IRC Network, Centre of Excellence, etc. They get boring after a while, so I stopped listing them :)
