photo what is it with your cow fetish?
I think I have to blame my fourth form physics teacher for that one. I started mooing in his class as a way of passing the time, and it sort of stuck :) I like collecting cow things, and I like mooing. I have been told I moo at the most inopportune moments, such as in lectures and, well we'll just leave that to your imagination ;-)

do you have any cow nicknames?
yes, of course! some of my friends call me 'moo' or 'mooman'. I also irc using the nicks 'BabyCow' and 'BabyMombe' (although usually I am known as 'rm-rf')

do you have a cow collection?
yes! my collection now has at least 8 stuffed cows, a cow shaped clock, cow linen, a cow apron, cow cruet sets, etc. oh, and cow monitor pets on my home and work machines :) you are welcome to donate more :)

what about computers?
everyone has a naming scheme for computers, mine happens to be cow related. I currently have the following machines; mombe, moo, bovine, cow, friesland, and my firewall is cattleprod :) There is also an oxpecker, which is a Sun Javastation II, and sits on top of mombe.

my dhcp server on my home network will hand out all sorts of other cows, such as aberdeen-angus, afrikaner, ayrshire, brahman, brangus, charolais, devon, dexter, guernsey, hereford, holstein, jersey, limousin, mashona, nkone, red-dane, red-poll, shorthorn, simmental, sussex and tuli.

anyone who knows my coding style will also complain about my use of variables like $moo in scripts called moo.pl.

I guess this makes me a computer cow geek :)

what sort of geek are you?
the geek code (version 3.1) has this to say about me;
GCS/IT/S d- s++:+ a- C++ UBLH++++$ P++++$>+++++ L- !E W+++ N++ o K- w---(++) O- M- !V PS+ PE Y+ PGP+ t- 5 X+ R- tv+ b++ DI+ D+ G++ e++>+++ h- r y-(+)>*

and now for some real questions ...

where do you come from?
I hail from harare, zimbabwe, and I currently work for rhodes university in grahamstown, south sfrica.

what are you doing at rhodes?
I did my undergraduate degree at rhodes and ended with a BSc, majoring in computer science, physics with electronics and much as I hate to admit it information systems. I did my BSc(Honours) and MSc in computer science. I am currently working as systems manager in the information technology division.

likes, dislikes etc?
yes :)

more to come ... maybe.
